If you are not willing to take the time to thoroughly research the issue then don't go to the elders regarding it. Whole books have been written about it "Gentile Times Reconsidered". If you want to get the conviction that you and many millions have been lied to, then you have to work hard. I actually read the book and confirmed beyonfd any doubt that the Watchtower lies.

11/30/2014 WT Study - take care of those who are all used up.
by OneEyedJoe inwas bored during today's indoctrination lesson, and you guys weren't generating enough content to keep me entertained, so i looked agreed at next week's a bit.
basically the point of the hour lesson is that once the society has completely used someone up, they're to be dumped on next of kin (or anyone who'll take 'em) to take care of 'em.
obviously the wts can't dip into any of the millions/billions that they're sitting on to pay for the support of ailing missionaries - they've got that money earmarked for new cult compounds and paying off victims of the pedophiles that they've protected over the years.. just another in a recent string of articles paying lip service to taking care of those that have given their life to the cult while they do absolutely nothing from their ivory towers.

"They're a corporation. Thats what corporations do. Use up people"
Working for a corporation is completely voluntary, and quite often employees get paid very well. It's a two way street. It's a free country, so to speak; you can always quit before they use you up. Go to a sole proprietorship or a "mom and pap" business, or even better start your own business if you want to diminish the power of corporations. In other words, if you don't like something, fix it to your liking by doing something about it.
Sorry for the digression, but I can't let generalizations and "the powerful are evil" type of statements go unchallenged.

A Non J-Dub paying a visit to KingDumb Hall!
by J-DUBBED ini was thinking of doing a pop-in visit when they're doing their thing(what ever that might be).
to just see what it is that lures and hooks people, like our son.
i was worried there is some sort of subliminal messages in audio or video that start to brain-wash a person.

As a non JW who dislikes the leadership of this religion with a vengeance, I wish I could be in your position so I can ask for a Bible study and have lots of fun asking them hundreds (I meant hundreds) of tough questions regarding their leaders and their doctrines of the past and the present. I can't do that anymore because I am a well know friend of the "apostates".
If you are not depressed, not socially needy or awkward, not a 12 year old or younger, not completely ignorant of the world around you, don't have an IQ less than 90, have a low level of education, then your chances of beeing sucked in are very tiny. I don't know much about your son. Something was certainly missing when he was fooled by this religion. You would know better.
Take a Bible study and have fun. Just be cautious not to let your teacher know that you know too much. Pretend, as they do.
Regarding getting your son out. Come to this blog often. You will learn about the religion more and more. The insight you get will improve your chances to get your son out.

In fairness to God, I must say that he has been quite lenient to Satan for thousands of years. That's evidence of a gracious God who, even though kills millions of innocent people every year, has not given up on the worst offender.

I think the lawyers can invoke Gerrit's baptism as proof of his relation to the Organization.
Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with God’s spirit-directed organization?
Oh I forgot that he baptised when they still believed in Jesus Christ. I guess he is off the hook on a technicality.
Have you recognized yourself before Jehovah God as a sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him the Father through his Son Jesus Christ?

Scientists Should Not Dismiss Genesis So Quickly
by Chris Tann innasa discovery proves the bible scientifically accurate.
the debate.
for decades there has been a long standing debate between science and religion as to the validity of the biblical genesis account of creation.

So a scientific statement that sounds rather remotely similar to a little verse in the Bible proves what?... got it. The entire Bible is accurate, comes from God and should be read literally.

I must say that a stenographer has a tough job. Having said that, I either have to believe that the speakers misspoke quite frequently, or that the stenographer, given what appears to be numerous phonetic mistakes, concentrated in sounds, not even words or sentences. I understand that they have to write exactly what they hear, but we have to take into account, among other things, homophones that have to be put in context in order to get an accurate description of the speaker's message. I may be asking the unreasonable, but context should be important for a stenographer too.

Orphan Crow,
In fairness to the opposition and based on the first 1/5 of the transcript that I have read so far, there are place where the person writing the transcript misheard or at the very least fail to figure out the right word from the context. She/he wrote "one and five" instead of "one in five" as the context suggests. In other places he/she may have commited the same error.
I noticed that the whole thing is in video too. Is the stenographer allowed to see that video to correct obvious transcription errors before printing and distributing the final product?
It's impossible to determine if the speaker misspoke or the listener misheard, but it's obvious that one of these problems happened quite frequently during the deposition. I haven't read many documents like these, so it's hard to comparatively "grade" this transcription. It, however, has many mistakes that appear to be inconsequential and could be attributed to the stenographer.

Thank you Orphan Crow for bringing some balance to this thread's discussions and enlightening information about the legal system that is designed to be as fair and as just as possible, even to the people we perceive to be the bad guys. I will keep an eye on you from now on. I get a feeling that I can learn from you.

My Breaking Point -- 11/9/14
by game1914over ini have enjoyed reading your comments during the past four years.
deep down inside, i have always been agnostic.
the first few chapters in genesis are contradictory and differing.. no one has ever been able to answer my question: "why was satan ever created?".

Miraloma Assembly Hall. Yes that's an assembly hall that was built in a piece of land that cost pennies. That project was done after they sold a piece of prime real estate in a very expensive area in Los Angeles (Woodland Hills). Now the brothers and sisters have to travel 70 or more miles --versus 5 to 20 miles before-- to attend their assemblies in a stinky kingdom hall. The Watchtower makes huge profits by selling in the millions and buying in the thousands, while the brothers have to spend a lot more money to get to the stinky hall. And as if that's not enough, they also contaminate the environment a lot more. The cost of the assembly hall is much cheaper, but the cost of the assemblies to brothers and sisters is more expensive. It's a cult, it's a busines.
